EAST ASIAN PASTORAL INSTITUTE

Forming pastoral leaders and missionaries for a renewed Church

Training missionaries from all over the world since 1961, the East Asian Pastoral Institute (EAPI) is known for its multi-cultural residential environment.  After 50 years this EAPI experience is still an attraction since many participants have not had the experience of learning and sharing community life together amidst a diversity of genders, cultures, ethnicities, vocations, and spiritualities.

Although the content of the programs has evolved in tandem with changing pastoral needs and pastoral knowledge, EAPI has continued to implement the original dream of the founding fathers, namely, to prepare, form, train, and help pastoral workers for mission.

VISION

MISSION

EAPI Vision & Mission

We are a multi-cultural Catholic community of disciples striving to witness to a new way of being Church in a region characterized by diverse cultures, religious traditions, widespread poverty, and complex social changes.

We commit ourselves, following the way of Jesus Christ, to serve the churches of Asia and the Pacific in their mission of giving witness to the Good News as leaven in the transformation of cultures and societies towards the values of God’s reign, by providing programs and services for the integral formation and renewal of lay persons, religious, and ordained ministers.
