Developing Young Leaders for a Renewed Asian Church and Society
The Institute of Formation, Fondacio Asia (IFFAsia) is a school of Discipleship - Mission for young adults and lay in Asia. It is an initiative of a group of ordinary persons, laity from Malaysia and the Philippines belonging to Fondacio, a Catholic lay association, and concerned for the lack of any formation institutes or programs for young lay persons in Asia that will equip them for any social or pastoral work.

IFFAsia was launched in May 2006 in Quezon City, Philippines. It is at the service of local Churches and communities in the region. Its program requires the partnership of three parties - the participants and the local Churches and communities, with IFF Asia. IFFAsia opens an alternative career or life path for the young and helps them to engage in the peripheries and be in the mission to serve through the local church and civil society.

We, a community of disciples, founded on the spirituality of Fondacio, call and nurture new vocations and missions through an integrated and holistic approach, for local communities and Churches in Asia.

Admission Criteria for Participants

Aged 23 to 38
-
College or High School graduate
-
Preferably has an intermediate level of English
-
Preferably has community work or ministry experience.

EITHER
-
Has a sending organization e.g. an association, NGO, local community, parish, diocese, Caritas, etc. that can support the applicant in his/her 2-year post-formation project implementation (tripartite agreement) OR
-
An independent participant with commitment to look for an implementing partner for the post formation Development Action Plan (DAP).

Commits to fulfill the required two (2)-year internship, part-time or full-time, after their formation.

Has the necessary physical and mental health to follow the demands of the program.

Willing to participate fully in all activities and projects proposed during the formation period.
